Any legislator who votes for arming teachers should be required to serve at least one eight hour tour per month, no body armor, no assault weapons (because we don’t want friendly fire) with a big old target on their big old fat belly.
Are they planning on paying for the guns and the training? Oh, and what are they going to do when the teachers leave in even bigger numbers than they already are? Oh yeah! They hate public education and will rejoice that this expedites its demise.
The entire exercise in stupidity is evident once again in the republican response to a problem – of course the Louisiana legislature hasn’t thought this through – I sincerely doubt they’ve even decided what kind of firearm to provide their teachers or if it will be effective against assault weapons, or how to train the teachers effectively or where the guns are to be stored so they’re easily accessible in the event of an active shooter situation while still being inaccessible to the children in the classroom!
One can assume from the “quality” of the politician Louisiana sends to Washington (John Kennedy) that the electoral base hasn’t thought THIS clearly either – as a matter of fact, there doesn’t appear to be much “intelligence” exhibited at all by ANYBODY on the right in that or ANY OTHER state legislature controlled by the idiots, morons and cretins that comprise today’s G.O.P. – oh, and Raphael Cruz is NOW saying the mass killing nationwide is being caused by “missing” fathers – seriously!
Maybe we can get together a Senate Junket to Cancun to try to find the missing daddies…
Nobody on the Right has any intention of doing ANYTHING to fix the problem, not the congressman currently “disgracing” the name of “Kennedy” and definitely not Fast Eddie Cruz. After all, it’s THEIR constituency that’s doing the killing!
