Hello, all you happy Vagabonds (^.^)

Dreary morning around here, I saw at least one flash off in the distance or I should say over the hill, or is it the next hill.

Currently 65 and mostly cloudy, no moisture in the air. We are looking for 77 degrees and clearing skies. I like it.

Not a lot on tap for today, in a while get the trash and recycle ready to go then mail, Quick Stop and home.

Stay healthy, stay happy and may God bless.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

Is it really only 9:30? It seems like we’ve had a full day already. First the morning walk, then off to the nursery to find some heavy duty ant killer, then spreading same around the foundation of our home. Written down that doesn’t seem like much, but in this heat it’s enough.

Yes, we’ve had ants inside several times in the last week. The heat is driving them inside and twice now they’ve gotten into one of the cat feeders. The cats won’t touch the feeder once there are ants, so they were howling for more food earlier than usual yesterday evening. (I use little cloth & plastic “mice” to hold their dry food. There are 5 of them and we hide them all over the house so the cats can hunt for them. They love the hunt. 5 full mice make up the recommended daily ration of food for the two of them.)

We are going to start walking twice a day now, once early morning and once just after dusk. Michael’s physical therapist recommended he do that rather than one long walk because of his specific back problems, so I will do it with him since I need to get out more anyway.

With the fourth rapidly approaching, the idiots are already out with their fireworks and skyrockets. Some of them sound an awful lot like gun shots. I’m all for the “safe and sane” fireworks or big displays put on by organizations, but these guys bring in stuff from Mexico that are illegal and dangerous. And they freak out the cats.

Not much else to say. The forecast for today is 103 with a current temp of 95. The fourth is the one day that we will drop below 100 then back up on Tuesday, not that 99 is all that much cooler.

Everyone have a safe and blessed day.

should be a nice day. 86 is the forecast. we already had our 47% rain this morning, so there’s nothing much to look forward to.

spent most of yesterday cleaning a large linen closet. very nice ‘donation’ pile, and an equally large trash pile. my clothes closet is next, either today or tomorrow. i’ve lost so much weight, that i’m tired of seeing the baggy clothes.

    Sunday

    Morning, Village!

77 degrees with clear skies at 6:00 AM.

Boy, did we have a busy day yesterday! First we took our grandson to the annual July 4 Golfcart Parade! Then we took him to the water slides where he spent an hour and a half, just going up and down those slides. Then to the local grill for a hamburger lunch. Then we went back to the water slides for another hour! Then home for a much needed nap. After a homemade hotdog supper we went to the fireworks display! And today I will be delivering Communion and preaching at a church in a nearby town! Happy Fourth of July Everyone!

    Happy Mid-Year Day Vagabonds

Today is the 183rd day of the year yesterday was the 182nd and starting tomorrow there are 182 days left in the year. (^.^)

The day is starting with sunshine a plenty, my first squint at the thermometer was 57, now we got in the 60s. Todays high is being forecast as 73. (^.^)

I havw found something good on YouTube, a Scottish pipe and drum group, I believe the name is Caledonia. WOW! Do those guys beat their drums and the pipes are marvelous. Yes there is some Scotts blood in my line, the name of Low or if you like it better, Lowe and on my mother’s side Keith.

OK, have a wonerful Mid-Year Day and may God bless.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

Today was supposed to be Donut Sunday at church. I help out in serving the donuts & coffee every month. We just figured out last Tuesday that the shop where we usually get the donuts has been closed for their annual vacation. It will reopen on the 6th but that wasn’t much help to us. So the pastor’s wife who is a fabulous cook & baker spend all day yesterday making cinnamon rolls, frosting them and then putting them into individual plastic containers. She made so many that she was encouraging everyone to take home as many as they wanted. I took 6 and there were still two big tubs full of them left.

As for the message, first Tim talked about the 7 principles of the Judeo-Christian ethic upon which this country was founded and then continued in Revelation 17. Both halves were terrific and thought-provoking.

We’re not doing anything really special tomorrow other than having Mike over for BBQ ribs. Oh yeah, and trying to keep the cats from freaking out from the fireworks.

Today’s forecast is for 101 and it’s 96 at almost noon. We peak around 4 to 5 o’clock so we should be right on track.

Everyone have a safe and blessed Sunday.
