    Morning, Village!

Guess what? We were going through our old photos last night and Bonnie came upon an envelope marked Floyd Haxton. She asked me who it was. So I looked at the pictures inside and discovered our old friend Shirttail Slim!

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

We’re at 68 on the way to 79 and very windy.

I let Sting out this morning and he was immediately attacked by one of the mocking birds. Between that and the wind, he decided indoors was a good place today.

We had a crisis yesterday. On Sunday Michael used the leaf blower to clean off the patio and inside of the closet off the patio where the water heater is located. He managed to blow out the pilot and we didn’t discover it until yesterday morning. We tried repeatedly and could not get it to relight so we called the plumber. He did manage to relight it and we now have hot water, but he did recommend replacement since the thing is 13 years old (about 3 to 5 years beyond it’s normal life). So now we have to decide whether or not to replace it before it goes bad or just wait until we have a leak. At least it’s outside the house, but if it leaks we could be looking at drywall damage, etc. The house call was less than $50, but a new hot water heater is around $2 grand. We’re even thinking of putting in a tankless which is even more expensive.

The gardeners did pick up all the debris from that big dead bush. I even managed to say thank you to them. It looks much cleaner out there. Of course, since they trimmed everything and cleaned up the pine needles, etc. of course the wind is blowing it all back in today.

Off to church for prayer group in a few minutes so everyone have a safe and blessed day.
