Ignoring Fox, which is generally a good idea, the media has had difficulty in criticizing O’bama. Perhaps you don’t like the extreme stress of the cartoon but there is a basis for it. I remember not to long ago an article in the Economist noting this difficulty while praising the Onion as the exception.
I personally am not particularly impressed but I’m still trying to keep an open mind. It’s still early in the term.
I don’t see how the media has had trouble criticizing Obama… everyone from R. Maddow to B. Mahr has done it, but they had a legit complaint! The right-wingers have either made stuff up ( “He’s a socialist! He’s a communist!” ) or twisted the true! Sean Hannity will state Obama’s poll numbers are down and then lie why… and they are down since Obama has not done the things right-wingers would HATE, from gays in the military to healthcare!
What I’ve noticed is the subtle word choices by “media” to put negative twist on a lot of Obama’s actions, and speeches. Saying the main stream is in his pocket is like saying it’s a good idea to carry a rattlesnake in your pocket. “Faux Views” is NOT news. The others aren’t far behind.
