Trump kids’ refusal to pay their bills is coming back to haunt them in DC investigation
According to a report from the Daily Beast, the Trump Organization — and by extension Don Jr., Ivanka and Eric Trump — may have created another legal headache for themselves due to their history of not paying their bills.
As reported by the Beast’s Jose Pagliery, Washington D.C, District Attorney Karl Racine is incorporating a dispute between the family’s business and a D.C. hotel over an unpaid $49,358 bill into his investigation over the misuse of inauguration funds dating back to 2017.
At the center of the dispute was the Trump Org’s refusal to pay for the block of rooms they booked at the Loews Madison Hotel after 13 people didn’t show up — which then led to the bill being sent to a collection agency.
According to Pagliery, that financial dispute put Trump and family back in the “crosshairs in an ongoing investigation into how the Trump kids used the Presidential Inauguration Committee to throw lavish parties of their own.”
While the bill was eventually “paid by the Presidential Inaugural Committee at the direction of Rick Gates,” the investigation has turned up a series of communications that show that Don Jr’s aides was in the loop over the fight over the money.
“In the typical fashion of an aggressive collections agency, Campbell Hightower & Adams in Arizona started bombarding the company with phone calls and emails in June 2017, picking up where the Loews Madison Hotel had left off,” the report states. “A collector, identified only as ‘Sherie,’ jotted down notes when she repeatedly communicated with Don Jr.’s executive assistant, Kara Hanley,” which led Hanley to deny the company had anything to do with the bill.
WHY he is allowed to still create dissension as bad as he is is and why isnt he behind bars? I want to puke at the slow rate justice is bing served up….BOO HISSSSSS
Trump news – live: Ex-president under fire for ‘racist’ Covid care comment as fallout continues after AZ rally
Donald Trump is under fire for another incendiary racist remark, this time a claim that white people are being discriminated against in the distribution of Covid-19 treatments.
The sometime president shared the false claim at an Arizona rally on Saturday, telling his supporters that “The left is now rationing life-saving therapeutics based on race, discriminating against and denigrating, just denigrating white people to determine who lives and who dies.” He urged the Supreme Court to intervene to stop this supposed discrimination.
The same rally saw Mr Trump railing against enemies from Joe Biden to “the left” to retiring GOP Congressman John Katko, one of the only House Republicans who voted to impeach the 45th president after the 6 January attack on the US Capitol.
Trump tried to ‘exert extreme partisan influence over the Census Bureau,’ docs reveal
The Trump administration tried to exert tremendous influence over the 2020 Census, which is now being used in a nationwide redistricting program, often handing Republicans even stronger gerrymandered congressional districts and in some cases attempting to dissolve districts of Democratic members of Congress, while eliminating some majority-Black districts.
Then-President Donald Trump was directly and possibly “illegally” involved, as The Brennan Center for Justice, NYU Law School’s nonprofit public policy institute, reports. The Trump administration also worked directly with an anti-immigrant group that appears on the Southern Poverty Law Center’s list of nativist hate groups, a “think tank” devoted to anti-immigration efforts, and with an individual known for “promoting voter suppression efforts.”
“The Trump administration attempted to exert extreme partisan influence over the Census Bureau,” The Brennan Center reveals . It filed multiple Freedom of Information requests with at least ten federal agencies and was forced to sue the Trump administration when it unlawfully refused to produce the requested documents.
The Brennan Center adds that “career Bureau officials pushed back at those attempts. An email among senior officials at the Census Bureau from September 14, 2020, discusses the Commerce Department’s ‘unusually high degree of engagement in technical matters, which is unprecedented.’”
Citing a “a complete lack of public transparency,” The Brennan Center reports “President Trump issued a memo in July 2020 stating that he would illegally attempt to remove undocumented populations from the apportionment count due at the end of December 2020.”

Republicans who pushed fake Electoral College documents in 2020 need to face ‘criminal prosecution’
Rotner isn’t the only one making that argument. During a January 13 appearance on Maddow’s show, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel — who is part of Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s administration — told the host, “Under state law, I think clearly you have forgery of a public record, which is a 14-year offense, and election law forgery, which is a five-year offense.”
But while Nessel was mainly talking about Michigan during that January 13 conversation with Maddow, Rotner points out that MAGA Republicans circulated fake Electoral College documents in multiple states.
“While the story of phony electoral certificates submitted to Congress by Republican officials in five states as part of a failed attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election has caught on in a big way over the last week, it isn’t new,” Rotner explains. “The phony certificates were submitted nearly a year ago, and as early as March 2, 2021, American Oversight published the documents themselves after obtaining them through the Freedom of Information Act.”
Rotner adds, “Actually, there weren’t just five states in which, despite Biden having won there, Republican pseudo-electors submitted Electoral College certificates in support of Trump. There were seven. The Republicans in two of those states, however, hedged their bets.”
Republicans are amazingly stupid, they sent forged documents about alternative right wing electors that were supposed to be used if the insane coup succeeded and sent these guilt admitting forged documents to the National Archives. Totally outrageous criminally traitorous behavior that should get republicans banned as a political party in this country.

Trump is saddling the Republican Party with the ‘misfit toys’ of the far right: conservative
In his daily newsletter, conservative commentator and Bulwark founder Charlie Sykes stated one need only look at the cast of characters who preceded Donald Trump’s Saturday night rally in Pleasure, Arizona to see the path that the Republican Party is on as he gave far-right conspiracists a national platform to build their own followings.
On Sunday conservative columnist Matt Lewis pointed out that the speech by the former president — who rehashed his usual litany of complaints — was greeted with a yawn by the national media which instead focused on Trump’s opening acts.
As Lewis wrote, “A few years ago, Trump rallies spawned breathless coverage and drove multiple news cycles. But The Times’ story isn’t even about the rally, and their mentioning it is mostly perfunctory,” before adding, “To keep readers’ attention, The Times spotlighted a cast of supporting characters, such as Kari Lake, a Trump-endorsed candidate for Arizona governor who used to be a local news anchor. The photo of her in The Times shows her wearing some sort of cape, which I think we can all find mysterious. No wonder they used her.”
Using that as a springboard, Sykes warned fellow conservatives that the future of a continually Trump-dominated GOP was on full display and that they should find it even more “deplorable” than what they witnessed while Trump was still in office.
Noting Trump’s ’continuing attempts to re-write the history of the January 6 Insurrection," Sykes stated, “You could see the GOP future in the whole show: a rally that featured all the misfit toys embraced by the Once and Future God King.”
“The My Pillow Guy, Mike Lindell, was there, and treated like a rock star rather than a mental patient off his meds. Indeed, Trump’s rally featured the whole pantheon of deplorability; Rep. Andy Biggs and Rep. Paul Gosar were there, along with the state’s batty party chair, Kelli Ward,” he continued with an accompanying clip of Ward bizarrely claiming there was election fraud in 2016 but “we defeated their cheating algorithm” and they would do it again in future elections.
Add to that, Sykes wrote, is the elevation of Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake, “who seems to have a fetish for jailing people she doesn’t like,” with the former television news anchor telling the Trump faithful, “I want to lock somebody down, and it’s that liar Dr.Fauci and anybody who was involved in that corrupt shady, shoddy election of 2020. Lock them up.”
Sykes then quoted National Review writer Michael Brendan Dougherty who wrote before the rally that nothing the former president and his new surrounding cast of characters are serving up has anything to do with policies that would help people, and is merely a list of grievances.
According to Dougherty, “All that is left of Trumpism are Trump’s grievances and aspirations. This is not an agenda that will win him high office, help his party, or accomplish anything for his countrymen.”
