I think most thinking people see it this way. Why else do they run around with ski masks on? Sure wouldn’t want to be identified of something they are supposedly so proud of being.
What proof do you have that wisdom is increased by your supposed wider and knowledgeable view of the world? Perhaps you have confused quantity with quality?
NoFear … good point. Like a stamp collector you accumulate as many as possible then in a quiet moment sort out what’s worth something and dispose of the rest.
PupWithoutFear;
In a democracy (or so-called democracy), giving your opinion is a duty. Even if sometimes you think people won’t listen or that your knowledge is not without flaws , you have to.
It’s the price to pay for being free (or trying to be).
This cartoon could have come straight out of Julius Streicher’s Nazi propaganda rag, Der Sturmer. All you’d have to do would be to switch “Hamas” for a Star of David and put a Swastika on the soldier’s helmet. Whatever you may think of Hamas, the satirical depiction of Palestinians as vermin is unacceptable and harks back to Nazi Germany when political cartoons of the Third Reich typically portrayed Jews as vermin unworthy of life. The experiences of the Holocaust have taught us (or have we learned anything after all?) that before genocide can occur, a process of dehumanization of the victim group must take place. Casting the victims as subhuman like this is a part of the process and is intended to make the public more accepting of the violence being inflicted. “Sieg Heil!”
