When I came back to work after taking a sanity day off as a sick day, my boss would notice how chipper I looked. I usually lied and claimed to have thrown up the night before and had diarrhea in the morning, but it cleared up by the end of the day. I explained I felt so glad to be over all that.
That’s why in the company I owned sick leave could be used for any reason even vacation days. That way the staff did not have to make up reasons for being out.
