I still say that I am grateful for that microchip. Hopefully my wife will be able to find me via an app on her phone when I wander off for any of myriad reasons.

Seems like the ones who are now dying are almost entirely among the mental non-starters. Since they’re obviously WILLING to die, I hope that they’ve done it before they procreate.

I know I’ve said this before, but I have come to the decision that the hard core anti vaxxers (like the dude with the foil hat in the cartoon) and the remaining hesitant will either get vaxxed or get sick. When the Delta variant started spreading in late summer/early fall, over 55 million former “fence sitters” got fully vaxxed. For many (if not most) of them, it took seeing their unvaxxed friends and family members getting sick to get them off the fence and in the vaccine line. And we were reminded yet again that reason eventually penetrates all but the thickest of skulls. This does not mean, however, that the new Omnicron variant (and the Delta variant, which is still the dominant one here in the US) puts us back at square one. Yes cases are rising, but Covid related deaths remain low (last time I checked, Europe is the only part of the world were Covid deaths were rising). And Omnicron is proving to be a very mild variant in Europe and Africa. And there are more and better treatments available for those who do get seriously ill from Covid. There are currently more Americans fully vaxxed than unvaxxed. It’s just the ones who continue to pitch a hissy over vaccines and/or mandates who get all the attention from the media because that’s what generates clicks. May you all have a happy and safe holiday, and may things continue to improve in 2022.

About this “mild variant” – Initial results determined that “kids” were relatively unaffected by the Trump Virus. It was even assumed in some quarters that children couldn’t even get the disease – and then, upon deeper investigation, it was discovered that children who got the virus and “quickly recovered” actually suffered long term damage to their hearts, lungs and other internal organs which was not immediately apparent.
