They got hired for a specific purpose and once that purpose was done, they were retained. Then they started making things more complicated to justify their existence. The reporter noted that the iPhone 14 takes a lot longer to set up than his iPhone 7 because of a lot of extra additions like you’ve left your iPad at home and others. That reminded me of all the engineers at one place I worked who improved the product to the point it hardly worked anymore and the plant closed.
