I lack confidence in our ability to get along well enough to … get along. And I blame mostly the right wing. You cannot tell me that “every politician is the same”… even though I agree they have many things in common. Some of them, seems to me, make a sincere effort to help their constituents and tell what they perceive as the “useful truth”, all while trying to remain in office (=power). The other half (is it really a full 50%? We’re doomed!) make a sincere effort to do the will of the obscenely rich, while deliberately lying, and deliberately harming their constituents in the name of retaining power for their party.
Totally true except, “not being a fan of polls” takes away from the point that many complaining the loudest about how the state, local, school, social, and other institutions in this country can’t be trusted do so while beating the drum of patriotism and how American exceptionlism.

The same people who slam polls when they don’t like what the polls report sudden love polls when they report what they want to hear…

It’s their own fault, nothing will change as long as they keep voting for those destroying their lives year after year.
