Good point. Most folks in the USA have “just in time delivery” of utilities, the most likely being electricity and water. But if your utility isn’t top notch, you may find that you want to protect yourself against supply chain problems by keeping a generator or at least flashlights around, just in case. And by stashing some jugs of water too.
Growing up, “just in time delivery” was going out to the garden to get some veggies and using the hand water pump for water. No electricity, rather oil lamps. Born in 1943, upstate NY.
