I worked for a pizza place once whose number one customer complaint was that the chicken salad they ordered came chopped fine with mayo, and they ordered a chicken salad. It was almost script-worthy the reply from our phone crew, where they had to explain it is “like tuna salad. You know what tuna salad is, right? This is the same thing but with chicken”

Agreed. Why on earth do Americans, I don’t know anyone else who does it, say “tuna fish”????Is there any other species of tuna? Tuna bird? Tuna wolf?
