People couldn’t be inconvenienced for a little bit. Wearing masks, social distancing, not going to huge gatherings last year and this year without being vaccinated. But no, my freedom, my rights, it’s all about me, blah, blah, blah.
Too many politicians, mostly, if not entirely on the right/ so called conservative side (what they are conservative about, I haven’t figured out), have banked on Covid19 quickly mutating to a more mild form. To the point that they risked their own constituents with antivax crap. They never considered that it may become more lethal before that happens, because it didn’t fit the narrative they preferred, perhaps prayed for. Not understanding that viruses don’t care about anyone’s politics, nor do they listen to prayers.
The good news, vaccinated people may not be 100% immune, but stand a much better chance at not dying or having a full blown case. Most vaccinated people will not have to enter a hospital at all. Vaccinated people will also be better prepared to receive modified boosters to battle the variants, than people that are waiting to see what happens or have been suckered into thinking not being vaccinated is better than being vaccinated. Good luck with that.
Certainly a failure of leadership, most, likely these leaders are afraid to lead- hiding behind freedom from tyranny when they should show their constituents that they are free to take action to fight the virus and save American from sickness and death.
