Cops arresting someone on a charge that is immediantly thrown out of court IS stupid. Obama was correct in the first place, it just wasn’t politic to say it.
I have to agree cabrobst. It is not illegal to get pissed off at a cop in your own home when you have not done anything illegal. The cop was dissed, yes, but he should not have dragged Gates in. They both should have apologized to each other and left it at that.
Gates presumes any white cop is a racist…so what makes him any better than those he criticizes?
The more I learn of this the more I see that Gates has something in common with Jesse Jackson. He’s painting himself to be a race-baiter.
Obama should have been smart about this and made no comment at all until he had the facts. He admitted himself he didn’t have all the facts and then in the next sentence he tried and convicted the officer. That’s foolishness! I’d have more respect for him in this matter if he stopped at “I don’t have all the facts” like smart people do.
