Used to be we could trust the president. We knew that he had information that we didn’t always know. We understood that we had to give him a little bit of sway.
And then the political parties made it all about winning and not about governing.
And in order to win, Trump had to discredit everyone. The FBI, the CIA. ALL Democrats. Any Republican who disagreed with him. Minorities. Women. Men who didn’t say, “Yes Mr. Trump, right away Mr. Trump!” Churches that retained their morality and stood up to him and named him for the sinner that he is. (Damn few of them.) Anyone in the military who wasn’t in HIS military. Voting. Teachers. Doctors. Lawyers. Indian Chiefs. The media.
Hell, I didn’t mean to make this about THAT guy, sorry. It’s late.
I want to trust our president. I want to believe that he has our best interest at heart. He may screw up, but at least Biden is doing what he can to restore our faith and trust in the presidency.
Those banana peels have been waiting for presidents for decades now. I’d rather have my president slip on a stair than to crash and burn as a diplomat.
