Way, Way, Way back, when universities used students to maintain their on campus computing labs I was a support tech for my general engineering lab. It was pretty common that we would get phone calls from people not physically in our lab to get support on how to deal with their personal computers. There were certainly some times when the lab was busy and such calls would come in … and my tone might have gotten a bit … abrupt.
