There is now only ONE major American political party – the Democratic Party.
The republican party has ceased to be a party of governance and is now merely a party of obstruction merging into a party advocating lawlessness and violence!
There was a brief time, after the resignation of Richard M. Nixon, that the future of the republican party looked “hopeful”, but that party has quickly degenerated into a party of violence and lawlessness, caring only about maintaining power and control – it serves, today, only as an example of how NOT to govern.
Is the democratic party “perfect”? HAH – far from it – that’s why we need at least one other party to act as a “balance”. Unfortunately, the G.O.P. is quickly descending into madness and no longer serves as ANY KIND OF BALANCE, let alone a mitigating voice of reason.
The republican party has become the Trump party, sheltering white nationalists and Q-Anon believers while repeatedly attempting to destroy America and every value for which it stands!
The Trump mob that overran the U.S. Capitol on January 6th held all the parts of the “new” republican party on full display, and ANYONE who still considers him or herself a “republican” should be aware that you will be “painted” with the same broad brush of subversion with which they are being painted.
