As a youth I went to a seminar being given by some accomplished entrepreneur – I don’t remember his name, or really most of what he talked about. However, the one thing that stuck was – get someone else to pay for your education in what you want to do. If you want to start a business running restaurants – work for one and learn how they run. If you want to write – work for someone who does or in a job where you have to. It doesn’t make for the sexy Hollywood narrative, but it works.
