I failed a job interview once when the interviewer asked me what I’d do if a couple of people on my team were at odds with each other and I said I’d call in the boss. He told me (then) that he was interviewing me for a position as the team lead (I had applied for a position as a software developer). This was a good thing. Life lesson: You are interviewing them as much as the way they think it’s going. I don’t enjoy being the boss, and I know it. I’m a maker at heart, and it’s just not the same when I’m in charge of the people who get to do the actual making. Been there. Left to find a better fit. So I would have been unhappy if they had hired me for that job.

One of these days maybe we’ll find out what the mythical RJ-17 form is.

I once had to account for my time on 15 minute increments, in a job where things often changed rapidly. That lasted until I measured the time I took to keep track of how much time I took on each task, and then report it. It was always at least 45 minutes. Two weeks of that, and that measuring stopped.

Great comic strip today. Many days, i can see what is intended, but is often not quite there. Today, success! Fantastic final panel!
