Worked in a remedial math lab at a community college that used computer software to teach the remedial material. One day a student grabbed me to complain (not an unusual occurrence) that the program was calculating a division answer incorrectly. Turns out he was entering the operands incorrectly in his calculator.
Pretty sure the man on the left is speaking of “Income Tax Calculators”; aka tax calculations; not a physical “calculator” – such as those which replaced adding machines. (Did I do a good impression of Sheldon Cooper?)
