I liberated myself from purses years ago. The sense of freedom was amazing — two free hands! No worries about purse snatchers! I wear my ID and credit cards and bus pass in a little holder I wear on a lanyard around my neck, usually under my clothes. Anything else I might need on any given day goes in a pocket. I refuse to buy any clothes that don’t have pockets. (I still can’t believe they make women’s pants and such without pockets.)
