As best I can tell, we should get prepared for four years of Mr. Rall drawing (soon to be inaugurated) President Biden as a skeleton with a suit and tie. I am sure that Mr. Rall has some point that he feels is really really important to make with this bizarre motif. Sad.
This cartoon wasn’t funny in its earliest form, in the 1950s, when it showed Nixon challenging Eisenhower (recently recovered from a heart attack), to a race up the Capitol steps. Don’t know who drew it, but either Herblock or Bill Mauldin complained that while he hadn’t drawn it, people often told him that it was one of their favorites among his cartoons.
Has it occurred to anyone here besides me that Ted might be portraying Biden not as dead but as death?
(And no, not the Discworld’s kindly, gentle Death, but the death that lingers as a miasma where innocent people have been killed, often in job lots, to profit the psychopathic ruling and owner classes)
Other than displaying the cartoonist’s prejudice, how is this a political cartoon? Political cartoons should have a relevance to the politics of the day and be in a satirical vein. A good political cartoon makes you think about current events, but it also tries to sway your opinion toward the cartoonist’s point of view. This does neither.
Mr. Rail your Skelator drawing of Uncle Joe is upsetting the Rabble. That is the job of Editorial Cartoonist. Please draw one of Ms. Harris throwing a ball for Joe to fetch, breaking his brittle bones. He may not make Jan. 20th.
Y’know, we have 73 million people living in a bubble of their own choice and making. Maybe we ought to be more open to others’ pov. It’s not ridiculous to want to hold supposed public servants accountable. None of us need a bubble. That said, I’m looking forward to less chaos and corruption, and fewer lies. I am also very relieved that local and state boards of election have been doing their jobs with democracy and the fear of being voted out by their constituents, on their minds. Now all we have to do is somehow defeat the brainwashing of almost half of this country, and maybe we would have a place to start.
Its central to Ted’s hogwash story that Joe is not quite human. I wonder how he can stretch that malarkey out for 4-8 years, seeing as it’s lame as by gum blazes to begin with.
If you don’t like Ted Rall’s sense of humor then by all means just disregard his work. Go on, do something else. I read him because of and inspite of not always agreeing with his point of view but I don’t have any great urge to hold him accountable for his point of view or to set here and kvetch about it.

I think Hallowe’en has passed by already. I hope.

Even Joe in that condition would be more presidential than the current pretender.

What is Rall’s point here? Is there a point?

It looks like we’re going to have four years of Biden in Ted Rail’s version of a death mask. Bring it on Ted :)

C’mon, it’s pretty funny. I can see Kamala checking on Joe’s health every couple of hours or so. The skeleton thing, not so cute.

Ted, y’gotta cut back on the brown in Kamala’s portrayal —-she barely has more Black ancestry than Warren has First Nations.

I don’t get the point of this. Bernie Sanders is 79 years old. Why is Biden’s age an issue with Mr. Rall?

Maybe ted rall could change his name to “Always Unimaginative”? That way, I would know, not to view his work.

Is Kamala trying to scare Biden to death? The skull may signify the idea that he has one foot in the grave?

4 years of lame? This toon is trending to Garfield levels for poignancy.

I strongly suspect that Mr. Rall takes delight in pissing off the establishment Dem readership.
