The metaphor here is that McConnell and his gang have been not just packing the courts with right wing judges, they’ve also been trying to push their power/beliefs into all the places mentioned. For instance, right-wing passed regulations on (non) use of gendered restrooms by trans people. As if it was anybody’s business but their own. Similar for sports, sex ed (lack of), acts between consenting adults and of course gerrymandering, and other ways of distorting (at best) the vote.
