I now see masks by the side of the road pretty much any time we leave home: Approximately weekly. They’re yet another thing that, like a cigarette butt, is just S-o-o-o-o easy to throw out the window. I do think that at least some of them are accidentally blown out open windows or insufficiently closed garbage carriers.
