I’ve almost never been able to read my own writing. Granny told me I was a southpaw before going to school, and being forced to use my right hand. Now I can’t write legibly with either! Thank goodness for first typewriters and now computers and mobile phones :)
The one class I almost failed due to lack of ability, penmanship (we will ignore the other boring classes where I didn’t do homework). Touch=typing and typewriters were a godsend.

Symptom of a neurological disorder? His handwriting does get smaller as it goes along.

Mixing cursive with speed often appears cryptic. Fun to practice a little and see if we can still do it. Eventually without specially lined paper.
