I’d say there’s a lot of things tearing the EU apart except for the pandemic. A lot of right-wing values. Probably supported by Putin-internet-armys. The former east block is closing up and they are hugging their former commie neighbours in an incestuous way. Call it racism I call it Putinism. Those countries demanding most allowances didn’t do that well even before the pandemic and is now asking for their fellow members numismatic support. I’d say you get more back if you threw all that money in the Mediterranean sea. You can’t expect people in countries that haven’t come to terms with mafia and bribes in hundreds of years will sharpen up because of a lousy pandemic.
