    Hay Vagabonds

Today in the weather: generally cloudy. High 69, the dew point, uh, 66. Low temps, but, heavy air.

In other weather news: Isaias is due to move on through late Tuesday into Wednesday morning, expected to be nothing morn then a tropical storm if not a heavy low. Some good refreshing rain for a parched region. A tropical storm warning in NH and ME and in southern N.E.. A couple of rare tornadoes over in NY last night. To many hill for tornadoes.

Jan, in reference to “This Old House” in particular Norm Abram, who also hosted “Yankee Workshop”. He’d take a pile of lumber and turn it into a useful and beautiful peace of furniture.

Did you see the splash down yesterday, OMG, did that bring back memories. Saw most of them, listened to Glenn’s flight at school. History dose repeat it’s self..

Speaking of history repeating it’s self, my day. (^.^)

To all y’all have a beautiful day and may God bless.

    Hola Vagabonds…

All is quiet here. We never did get much of a storm, being on the weak west side of the eye (the west side of such a storm isn’t always weak, but Isaias’s west side was). We got some rain…but nothing heavy or unusual. The National Hurricane Center is still predicting a landfall in North Carolina with wind-speeds more or less borderline between a tropical storm and a hurricane. We hope the storm weakens and the NC folks get off easy too.

Now there’s another’ disturbance to watch, something NE of Puerto Rico and Hispaniola. If they give it a name at some point, it will be Josephine.

It’s 82 degrees here, at 8:30 a.m., and partly cloudy (or should I say partly sunny?).

    Good Sunny morning, Vagabonds,

Well, we had our 15 days above 90 for the summer. It can cool off today! Actually, the rest of the week is forecast to be in the high 80’s. Our windows are all open right now, and we’ll close them up in a little while. Life is bearable if it doesn’t get above the high 80’s. It was 99 yesterday! Argh!

Yes, Mark, we watched the splash down yesterday. How awesome! I loved the capsule recovery system. Very efficient. And it was quite fun seeing the flight control folks at SpaceX in Hawthorne. Very well done!

    xoxo Happy Trails

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

The housekeepers have been and gone. We sat out on the patio with the cats while they were here. It’s a balmy 85 out there, and not too bad in the shade. I finally figured out why our AC could never get the inside temp down below 78 (the service asks that we keep the temp at 74 or lower for the workers). The heater on the “auto” thermostat was set at 77. So I reprogrammed the daytime heating temps to 65 in order to allow the AC to work. And it worked. When winter rolls around, I can always reprogram it.

Not much else happening today. I am going to try to talk Michael into making our first “recycle run” to the university collection site. All they ask is that we keep the glass and the corrugated cardboard separate from the rest of the recycling. I am interested to see how they are set up for receiving stuff. Our condo complex does not offer a recycle bin, so we are attempting to do it ourselves, with a little help from UNLV.

Our forecast is again for 109, but the nighttime temps are dropping dramatically. Tonight it should be about 80, compared to two nights ago when it was 94. And starting tomorrow, it will be in the 70’s for about a week. I may even leave the patio door cracked a bit for fresh air.

Everyone be safe and have a blessed day.
