Hit the nail on the head, Dana. This “Defund the Police” is the dumbest idea yet, and the lib’s are full of those. And don’t tell me that this is just a thought. It has been endorsed by members of “The Squad”, mayors of L.A. and San Francisco. Time to check the ammo and maybe add to the collection.
How about we abolish Trump for starters? Then we can focus on any remaining offending law enforcement personnel and others but it’s got to start somewhere and no better place than right at the top.
The way to solve the looting, rioting problem is to figure out that the rioting is NOT the problem, it is the reaction to the problem. The police have always been the community paid employees of the respectable members of society. Respectability was largely determined by how much money a person had. The son of the owner of the local factory could get away with just about anything. The girl he raped was probably asking for it. The speed limit- oh well, boys will be boys, the fight obviously was the other guy’s fault. The police have accepted their role as the newer version of the castle guard. It isn’t only Black people who have been treated like the enemy of the respectable people, it’s anyone who isn’t considered part of the upper class. There has never been justice in this country. Not that this is confined to this country, it’s worldwide. Some people have always been more equal than others.
That is definitely Bonespurs approach, along with firing anyone who attempts to make him or his spawn, obey the laws. AG used to mean Attorney General, now it means All Gone.
They, the police, know there that cameras are now ubiquitous, & yet they still persist (not all of them, to be sure.) Can we white folks imagine what it was like for blacks before? It was truly a reign of terror! Well, some of us (like Mr. Summers) still don’t get it.
The militarization of the police is the issue. Defund that trend of police procurement of military vehicles, weapons and employment of deadly force tactics. The police with that weaponry began to think of themselves as an occupying force. That phalanx of police that shoved the old white guy and cracked his skull were on a maneuver reminiscent of a Roman Legion.

I’ve seen on video more crimes committed by the police than any protestors. And that’s with them knowing they’re on video.

It’s way past time we abolish the police! Cops are murdering hundreds of unarmed blacks every day, and it needs to stop!
