The crowd of has-been-Republicans and Never-Trumpers are getting bigger and bigger.

It explains why (as Trump is so happy to repeatedly point out) there is 97% support for Trump within the Republican party.

What remains of the Republican party. The desiccated withered stinking remains.

The Lincoln Project hit another home run!

The republican party was having issues long before Trump came along – I’m old enough that I can remember the G.O.P. being the party of “small government” (now they want a governmental representative ‘parked’ inside every woman’s vagina), fiscal responsibility (now they throw money (at the wealthy) around like an inebriated sailor on shore leave, and only utter the “fiscal responsibility” mantra when there’s a democrat in office) and “moral righteousness” (the preponderance of politicians discovered overstepping the bounds of morality have been republicans – not democrats!)

So, none of the old republican “values” have withstood the test of time!

The only thing republicans still have (in spades) is their overwhelming “hypocrisy” – everything else is open to negotiation.

I have, from time to time, voted for a Republican. Both times I have come to rue that decision. (John “Fig Leaf” Ashcroft immediately comes to mind.) But then, we were all young and stupid at some time.

Like I was when I voted Democrat in the 70’s!
