Even the “law” can be corrupted. Recent studies show that elected judges favor those that contribute to their campaigns more often than not. Judges, bought and paid for by campaign finance.
The way to solve the looting, rioting problem is to figure out that the rioting is NOT the problem, it is the reaction to the problem. The police have always been the community paid employees of the respectable members of society. Respectability was largely determined by how much money a person had. The son of the owner of the local factory could get away with just about anything. The girl he raped was probably asking for it. The speed limit- oh well, boys will be boys, the fight obviously was the other guy’s fault. The police have accepted their role as the newer version of the castle guard. It isn’t only Black people who have been treated like the enemy of the respectable people, it’s anyone who isn’t considered part of the upper class. There has never been justice in this country. Not that this is confined to this country, it’s worldwide. Some people have always been more equal than others.
For the most part, federal judges appointed by “Moscow Mitch” since the advent of Trump have been ideologues put forth by the “Federalist Society”, which, in my opinion should be classed as a “Hate Group” by the Southern Poverty Law Center!
The few that actually “understand” the law and the Constitution tend to disregard what each says when it conflicts with their own long-standing biases, as would have been evident had any REAL investigations been made into their past rulings – even the American Bar Association has stated that many so appointed by Moscow Mitch were NOT QUALIFIED to serve – not that their opinion mattered for a hill of beans.
Woodstock, what a miracle that would be. Like many who have seen multiple opportunities to do so I am cynical. After too many atrocities to even recall, in spite of Al Sharpton’s memorial address, I fear that we will go back to the old norm, a black man a week.
