Never underestimate the power of stupid, stuffed donkeys.

We don’t get to pick our hour or the manner (usually) of our death. Doesn’t matter what you believe or if you believe anything at all. Infants die, children die, young parents die alongside the old. I’ve buried them all, and there is never a good time for those who are left behind.

Some years ago on All Things Considered there was a segment about a young girl with cancer. She was braver than any adult I will ever meet.

Thanks, GEE, for sharing some of MLK’s great words. He’s definitely a hero of mine and those words are always inspiring and helpful!

JWF - promise me that you won’t do anything to Annie!! Please! Ever since she came along I’ve been afraid that you might “off” her because she doesn’t fit in with Lila’s lifestyle. Please keep Annie around so Lila keeps maturing. (And I don’t start crying!)

    Thank you.

A mature Lila would spoil the concept of the strip. Annie and the corporate bosses provide the foil for Lila’s excesses and therein lies the humour.
