    Good morning Vagabonds

It’s a rather heavy morning here, damp if you will, 90% humidity, dew point 63. The merry go round low has finally left the aria leaving a mix sun and clouds this morning possible storms in the PM. High today 90. Another heat wave? (horrors)

Well Jan, the line from “White Christmas” might have been true when the movie was made, but, now we in VT are blessed with a Democratic super majority, a veto prof body that a Republican governor can only show his displeasure with a veto and contempt by not signing a bill. I’ll leave it there and just say that the 14th star will rise again.

I’m trying to keep it down but, did you know they want to change the name of John Wayne airport? What did the Duke ever do, oh ya, he made western movies. OY!

Maybe I’ll try to talk about the Normandy over the weekend.

Have a wonerful day and may God bless.

    Buenas dias, Vagabonds…

Today I went out a 6:30 a.m. for my morning walk, primarily to beat the heat, but also because there are fewer other folks out walking/biking at that hour. But primarily because of the heat/humidity once the sun is overhead. I walked as far as my fire-hydrant/owl turn around point, which brings my total round-trip distance to a little over 3/4 of a mile when I get back home. One of the great things about being retired is not having to having to set an alarm to get up at some specific time in the AM. I get up when I wake up, which is usually between 6:30 & 7:30 .m. In prior years, when I would wake up late and it’ was hot hot hot outside, I could always go for a walk under a/c in a large store or at a mall. Now, with the virus, I don’t want to do that. So I am trying to decide if it’s worth setting an alarm to get up early to set out for a walk by 6:30 a.m. It probably is.

Oh yes, the owl. I didn’t explain the owl. There is a house a several blocks away with a red fire hydrant out front and a silver pick up truck in the driveway with an owl on the roof (of the truck). It’s one of those plastic owls that folks use to keep birds (and cats) away.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

Today will be a typical Thursday. That is, not much to do. I will head out to the store later this morning for the final ingredients for tonight’s dinner, though. I never thought that grocery shopping would be the highlight of my week….

Yesterday only got up to 97 instead of the triple digit forecast. Today is supposed to be 101. At the moment (10 AM) it is 90 and we get our peak at about 5 PM, so we’ll see.

We’ve got a lot of “premature” fireworks going on here. We get bangs and booms every evening after dark. It’s driving the cats nuts. (As if they weren’t nuts already.) It’s a bit unnerving because just a week ago, we had a shootout a couple of blocks away and the sounds are similar.

Everyone stay safe and have a blessed day.

    Good Sunny afternoon, Vagabonds,

Well, we had our physicals yesterday. They went well. Now we have to wait for the blood work to come back. He’s seeing what kind of arthritis is in my hand with the blood testing as well as an x-ray.

I, too was a huge John Wayne fan. He did so many good things with his life that he should be remembered for all of them. I understand the ‘good’ men he portrayed were just a reflection of his life.

We watched a very emotional interview on Hannity last night. It was the father of the 19 year old boy who was killed in the Seattle CHOP zone. The police and EMTs were not allowed to come in and treat him. This father was never notified, or allowed to see his son, and the mayor or governor of Washington state never contacted him. Our hearts are saddened for his loss. He truly loved his son.

See you tomorrow. xoxo Happy Trails
