The whole point of this toon is the double-standard that exists. If it were someone on the right saying racist comments, it’d be a PC nightmare. But now this person “steps down” or “resigns” and that mollifies the lefts. Why aren’t they just as outraged as if someone on the right had said it? If you’re gonna be judgemental, be equal in your application of it.
The real problem this time was an NPR fundraiser rightly pointed out that there IS a “nut fringe” in the TEA party movement- he was just stating fact.Williams shouldn’t have been fired for his “Muslim” comment, but it might have been suspicious he already had a contract with Faux.
With all the fuss over underlings making stupid statements at ACORN, Planned Parenthood, or NPR, what about idiot statements AT THE TOP like “He has WMDs and we KNOW where they are!” Stated by Rumsfeld, Cheney, and Bush. Then there’s that “Mission Accomplished” banner. (With California beaches a stones throw away requiring a “combat return landing” on the carrier.
I’ve listened to and watched Rush’s rants. Odd that leaving off the “quotation marks” means he must not have said it. That darned seeing it in black and white is SO difficult when you’re at the bottom of the vortex in a sewer drain.
I prefer reading transcripts, as with my hearing, or lack thereof, and the fact they don’t caption radio very well, I rarely listen. Watching TV or video with captions helps a lot.
Rush, of course, attacks Sharpton and Jesse and Jeremiah Wright because they are so preposterously stupid and stand on the left.
I don’t think conservatives nowadays are intentionally racist as many Americans were not too long ago, but c’mon, “African Americans” vote over 90% Democrat. There’s going to be plenty of fodder for Rush in that demographic.
Virtually every day Rush comments in some way or another on race, and fans racist tensions in a very clever and sneaky way. Does that make Rush racist? Probably, or at the very least a race bating opportunist. An example would be along the lines of - “I don’t care if Obama is black, because I’m not a racist. Only Liberals are racists. Conservatives only look at the man, not at the color of his skin. Conservatives don’t care if he is black.” And he will repeat several times that Obama is black, but he doesn’t care. So why then does he keep bringing it up in various ways and repeating the same mantra? I call it sneaky racism - or a kind of subliminal message that black is inferior, but in his generosity and tolerance he is willing to forgive. The ultimate purpose being to defeat Obama.
Yeah, lets tag any right winger with racism, when it’s really the democratic lefties that are suppressing the blacks. Jesse Jackson is no help to the cause, just a loud mouth blow hard that is funded from the political left.
I ask you, what has he really done to progress the black movement? Nothing! Just complains all the time, never proactive, just reactive.
Not all ten of those statements are racist, many of them are honest observation. The 12% one, James Ray, and bone comments would be better understood in the context of the discussion. To listen to him consistently gives a better feel of Rush’s sentiments, which, while not always racially sensitive, are genuinely fair. I listened to him two weeks ago talking about abortion in NYC, and he somehow got smeared for being a racist for pointing out the utter holocaust on black babies taking place in that city alone. Rush was supporting the black pastor from Louisiana who had put up the controversial billboard.
Oftentimes, Rush’s “racism” is the Left’s inability to talk about what is really transpiring.
Habanero; If the aborted baby is black, and the mother who asked for the abortion is blac, and the doctor who did is is black, is it still genocide against the black people?
Or is the “holocaust” word just used to toy with people’s feelings?

Nah, Rush says racist stuff all the time, without consequence, because his listeners don’t care, or else support it.

Name one Rush racist statement, that is not taken out of context…

The real racist is Jesse Jackson.

josefw, earlier you demanded that someone “Name one Rush racist statement, that is not taken out of context…”
Radish gave you ten.
You failed to acknowledge any of them.
Is that REALLY how you want us all to judge you?

“Not all ten of those statements are racist.”
And what about the others, HBuck?
You obviously feel they’re racist.
But prefer not to address them.

Regarding your last sentence, by “OK” you meant “a requirement”, right?
