During Bernie’s first presidential bid, he was talking seriously about bringing the financial sector (Wall Street, Goldman Sachs et al) back under serious regulation. Today, the Democratic leadership is also courting big money. I wonder if they told him to quiet down on such talk. Still, this country faces many big serious problems that will not go away quietly. We need the direction and leadership, which, I feel, Bernie offers.

We don’t need progressive ideas right now. We need four years of stability and rebuilding the system

If we elect Joe, I just know that he will on day 2 of his presidency meander over to the senate chambers to hang out with his old dixiecrat and segregationists buddies.

What Matt is missing, is that Bernie’s ‘Revolution’ being associated with Bolsheviks & Jacobins turns off progressives who also want Universal Healthcare & more support for labor rights. He lost a huge chunk of people who voted for him in 2016, when he should have been trying to figure out how to reach out to people who were still angry at the likes of Turner, Sirota & Joy Gray for kneecapping Clinton.

Biden isn’t going to be an obstacle to any achievable reforms. It looks like he’s willing to give people to his left some seats in his Administration, but it’s the Senate that will really decide what the next 4 years look like.

A very good one, indeed. This nation’s citizens, as well as those in other nations, have had their livelihood and lives destroyed by “globalization” and neo-liberal economics. College graduates have been reduced to debt peons.

Corporations and the rich have destroyed democracy in America and are working on destroying democracy in Europe as well. Neo-liberal economics looks upon democracy as a hindrance to capitalism. "And if present trends continue, our digitally administered information state may indeed be poised to finally extinguish that irksome throwback legacy that Bernaus and his [neo-liberal] milieu found so threatening: democracy itself.”- “The Century of Spin” – Liz Franczak – printed in the March-April 2019 issue of the Baffler p. 102

And worst of all we are facing annihilation on a global scale, because of the wants of the very same people that own the American government. Bernie and his followers (as well as Elizabeth Warren’s) see this coming. Now is not the time for the “same ol’ same ol”.

Biden and his handlers (the people that own the Republican and, thanks to Spineless Bubba, the Democratic Parties as well, will do nothing about the bleak future. The election of Biden will change nothing.

As far as Trump’s antics go, Biden will do nothing more than cosmetic changes in his policies. The tax cuts and other privileges that Trump has given to the rich and their corporations will remain.

It was the Flood the first time. And, as promised, it will be the fire of global warming this time.

Forget about affordable healthcare, college, a livable biosphere. Just like Obama, Joe “gaffe riot” Biden is Wall Streets best bud, nothing’s gonna fundamentally change. Trump vs Biden is the status quo dream ticket, heads they win, tails we lose.
