Supply and demand…supply and demand. If we wanted to learn from this, we could realize that we, the consumer is in control and can drive the market if we want to. When we all decide to stay home and not buy gas all on the same day, the price goes down. Even when there’s not a pandemic, we could do it if we wanted to. But we don’t.

Irony – gas prices are down and the traffic is so light here in Portland that it is a pleasure to drive – seems like the early sixties on the streets – even at rush hour.

I’m tempted to just take a long drive around all these empty streets and take pictures. No need to actually stop and get out of the car, but it gets one outside and into the relatively fresh air. Bonus, you’ll have a bunch of photoes of empty streets for your grandkids to shake their heads over. “What was Grammy thinking???”
