Putin doesn’t necessarily want to see the U.S. devolve into autocracy like his nation, just uncontrolled chaos. Broken alliances so there is no opposition to Russian expansion. Broken trade deals that Russia can take advantage of. Trampling of the Constitution and basic human decency so that people lose hope for a better nation. He’s getting his wishes.
