I don’t understand this arc about the possibility of a gay family moving in – I don’t see the big deal to begin with and unless I missed it, they are just assuming the 2 women are gay – could be a single mom looking for a house and her friend is helping her, a married Mom, Dad’s working, friend or family helping her look, and why extra points for living next to a gay couple ?

Actually, I like the “dumpy and dull” description . . . those tend to be the best neighbors.
