CRANKSHAFT – I still don’t see what Ed could have done. All he had was a microwave sitting on top of a ladder. He couldn’t have put the entire rain gutter into the microwave.

GATURRO: Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle…The cow jumped over the moon; the little cat laughed to see such sport, and the dustpan ran away with the broom…

    PHANTOM: Game over.

MARK TRAIL: Harvey’s fixation gets the best of him, and he runs off into the Wild in search of the Yeti… I hope he remembered to take his camera!

CRANKSHAFT: Even though we only have Lillian’s description, this is funny!

This is a great pun in Spanish! In English it’s not funny, but here we go: Hi, Gaturro! Hi, Dustpan! The dustpan must be extremely funny because the broom always goes around laughing (or sweeping)! “barriendo” = sweeping or you can take it as “va riendo” = goes around laughing.

Mandrake – “Next week: a new adventure”. I wish we would see that in Mary Worth.

Crankshaft – One of his crazier ideas. A microwave doesn’t project enough heat to melt all that snow and icicles. And all that electrical cord is asking for trouble. I don’t see how Crankshaft is still alive, and that’s not funny.

Mary Worth – The puffiness in Iris’ face was due to the thyroid problem. The medication might show results fairly quickly but not overnight. It’s a comic strip time problem – a five-minute conversation may take a week to tell or there may be a week or jump in time while Mary was catching up with Estelle.
