She can do the dishes after dinner. They both work, so it’s not like he’ll be at home staring at them all day. My siblings all have the rule that after dinner the one who didn’t cook dinner does the dishes. If they both cook dinner, then they both do the dishes. Breakfast dishes during the workweek don’t add that much more to the load.

If you let her, she will make a habit of it. Leave them and say you forgot—there’s your habit.
