One of the talking heads today commenting after the house votes was bemused to note that his polling number was down 2% over the course of the impeachment process so far. This surprised him because the traitor’s numbers have been remarkably consistent regardless of how egregious his behavior becomes.
Has anyone noticed how much his backing funds have surged since impeachment was on the table? Look at that and who is contributing (and how much!) and dare to tell me this is the end, that things will change. This corruption is far wider and deeper than what caused a teeny little uprising in the mid-1770’s in a group of colonies of England on the Atlantic coast. Whatever became of that place I wonder…
So, how do we engage with his supporters? For them, it seems that no behavior is off-limits. Also, he is free to make up any fact and disregard actual evidence. However, we still need to have some dialog with his supporters for the benefit of the country. Otherwise the polarization would only deepen.
We no longer have a democratic republic lead by a citizen “first among equals.” We now have a dictatorship with, according to the AAPT (All Aryan Party of Trump), no accountability, no checks and balances, free to do whatever he wishes, because “if the president does it, it’s not a crime” (Richard M. Nixon). In rem publicam est. Vivat monarchia!
What the totally corrupt Trump admin calls ‘governing’ is what is getting him impeached because he did not follow the rules of the Constitution and now the Republicans want to make the Constitution weaker to support their thief and liar. Its unconscionable that the Republicans would destroy the USA to save Putin loving Trump.
