Afghanistan is rightly called the graveyard of empires. You never get anywhere fighting mountain people

Why stop the longest war in US history? That would be hogwash Ooo, ain’t that the school that magician kid went to? I’ll bet some good ol’ American kids went there too. Why some of ‘em even grew up to be pres-i-dent! Ain’t like Afghanistan has been that way for hundreds of years, or that learnin’ not to repeat history ever got anybody anyplace.

Russia could not win there and they are next door. Why does the U S always think we can win any where.

Has there ever.. ever.. in history… a war described accurately.. either currently or after the fact. The winner (real or imagined) gets to make the evening news and write the history books.

Oh, we’ll abandon them soon enough. Just ask the Kurds. We’ll leave, say “WE WON”, and award ourselves lots of medals and honors. After all, we need those troops in Saudi Arabia to protect those oil fields – excuse me, I meant “vital American Interests in the Middle East.”

What’s that saying about those who ignore history? We should have learned our lesson if we were aware of what happened to the Soviets in Afghanistan.
