Sally: I'm listening Linus: Good "in those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be enrolled" Caesar Augustus was the emperor of Rome and the most powerful person on earth! One night, in the little town of Bethlehem, a child was born, but no one paid any attention... After all, he was born in a common stable... Who would have thought that this child would someday be revered by millions while Caesar Augustus would be almost forgotten? Sally: No one paid any attention when I was born, either, but now everyone loves me, and I'm gonna get so many presents for Christmas, it'll make your head swim! When Sally was born, her brother ran around screaming “I’m a father!” But that did not happen to Linus.

Eh, calling Augustus nearly forgotten is debatable. While its true that he wasn’t as well known as other Imperial Romans, Augustus essentially formed the Empire in the wake of Julius Caesar. The Roman Empire’s influence on the Western world arguably equals that of Christianity even before the conversion.
