Peppermint Patty and Marcie sit at their desks in school. Peppermint Patty says, "She's talking to you, Marcie . . ." Marcie says, "Ma'am?"<BR><BR> Marcie covers her mouth and says, "My book report? Oh, good grief!"<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty says, "She was so busy bugging me, ma'am, that she forgot to read anything herself!"<BR><BR> Marcie turns and looks at Peppermint Patty. Peppermint Patty says, "Turn around, Marcie . . . I can't afford to associate with someone who doesn't do her homework!"<BR><BR>

WELL, do the tables EVER TURN HERE! For once, PEPPERMINT PATTY is the one who has done her homework, and MARCIE actually has NOT!!! And YES, how ironic that is, also, that all that time, over Xmas vacation, that Marcie had been on Patty’s case CONSTANTLY, about doing her homework, and thus, had FORGOTTEN TO DO HER OWN HOMEWORK! “Yes, Marcie, the laugh is NOW ON YOU,” is what Patty is like at the end, here,as Marcie turns to her, as if imploringly.
