Football and basketball crowds are really nothing more than studio audiences. The principal money is in broadcasting and that what dictates when and where games are played, not what would make the home crowd happier.
The same can be said for baseball but the gate at their games account for a much more significant portion of their revenue.

Minor league sports are dependent on people in the seats paying to watch.
