If the desire is a one world government then this would make a lot of sense actually.

How is this about one world government is beyond me. Ok, I’m also European, ask me: “Well, all those who join the EU enter a union based on democracy and peace. We have stopped warring on each other, which is a bloody fine start. Now we need to finetune this union. We got rid of the butter mountains, time we got rid of the farm subsidies, too. (and I heartily agree with oldlegodad complaining about turning food into fuel but the shortages are also largely due to global crop failures because of the adverse weather thi past year) That euro currency needs work, better mechanisms to ensure the various “speeds” within Europe can be addressed.”

    You’re welcome.

One World Government is a paranoid fantasy (among with most right-wing ideas). The Euroean Union isn’t working well, EXACTLY! Why would anyone try to make an even bigger government?

Righties read 1984 too much. They fear One World Government and Climate Control but deep inside, they believe those things because it is reassuring to think that all that comes to us is controled by a few people instead of being beyond human control. In a way, the men behind the curtain took a place God once occupied in people’s minds.

Scientists found 40 or 50 Goldilocks planets orbiting stars, but ours is still the only one with intelligent Democratic life.
