Oddly enough, I recall watching the news about Sadat’s assassination. I just looked it up, ‘twas in late ‘81. I guess I was watching the news from an early age.

The peace treaty will hold, it’s too important for modern Egypt. Their relationship might come up for review though. The first thing that comes to my mind is the Gazan border with Egypt.

I’m not sure it would hold if the”muslim brotherhood” hijacks the political situation. At least I think it wouldn’t hold for very long because these Imams have absolutely no concern for anything modern.

The Muslim Brotherhood could win an election in Egypt…and a top MB spokesman already told an Iranian Arabic language media that he wants Egyptians to “prepare for war with Israel” and “wants to close the Suez Canal” (an act of war) and wants to “shut down the gas pipeline that sells to Israel and Jordan”…..

Israel better be doing emergency battle preps….Russia has been supplying newer missiles to Iran’s proxies Hamas and Hizbollah….Syria and Lebanon are getting newer arms from Russia also……will Obama obey our US-Israel agreements and defend Israel If a new government in Egypt again joins in war against the Jews?

I give this editorial of 2/4/11 Four Stars….”the Obama team maintains that giving PROMINENCE to the religious parties will ‘give Egypt a strong chance to continue to be a stable and reliable partner’…..this is nonsense.”

I agree. Strange for a Liberal Democrat administration that leans to keeping the US public sector “secular”…would defy 30 years of Egyptian SECULAR by choice governing! Mubarak, no “democrat”, did keep the Radical Religious from “hope & change” to be like Iran or the Afghani Taliban! Or the Pakistani Taliban that is ruining that nuclear government! What is Obama & Sec’y State Clinton thinking?

Yes, the Muslim Brotherhood is relatively liberal (they’re certainly not radical), and any attempt to say they shouldn’t be allowed to run flies in the face of our professed will to bring Democracy to the area. At the rate things are going, only Iraq and Afghanistan won’t have functioning democracies.

Fox has been airing a remarkable amount of drivel about the Muslim Brotherhood and its alleged connection to bringing Sharia law to the U.S. It’s important to remember that it’s all right-wing fantasy without an ounce of evidence.
