Cornhole popping up everywhere all of a sudden. First I ran into the National Cornhole Championship on one of my sports channels, then just recently I happened to notice a couple in a TV commercial playing Cornhole.
When did they start calling this game “cornhole”? I literally never heard it called anything but “bean bag toss” for at least the first forty years of my life. Given the common vulgar meaning of the word, I’m sure I would have remembered it if I’d heard anyone call it that. Was it just a local slang term, or did I cross over to a different universe again?
