Not only did Trump pull out the US of the climate agreement during last year’s G20 summit in Argentina, this time he even tried to press several states, including Brazil, Turkey, Australia and Saudi Arabia, to follow the current US policy and also declare that they would not follow the Paris agreement on reducing carbon emissions. Why would he do that? If he thinks that this agrement is nonsense, he should believe, that the US now had a comparative economic advantage over every other country.

Much the same thing was said when W was elected. They were sympathetic and patient, but I think Trump is a bridge too far.
