When I was young, we had a neighbor that had a trampoline (back then they didn’t have round ones, it was a rectangle just like gym class) It was in a hole in the ground so it was level with the ground. That looked so cool to see kids bouncing “of the ground”. You could still get hurt, but it was a little more difficult to break your neck.
