GATURRO: A broken heart? I need a little translation help for today’s strip. Templo S.U.D. doesn’t have much to say.

MARY WORTH: Apparently Ms. Terry Bryson made an appearance in MW back in 2015. See the 2015 link below and also joshreads.com on 5/15/19 (yesterday).

JUDGE PARKER: Newswoman Toni seems distressed about something, but I am in the dark. What does Toni’s boss want her to introduce on the morning prime-time news? And why is she wearing that awful dress??

CRANKSHAFT/LILLIAN: The twins..the cat. A cool 3-panel strip starring Lillian. I still think she will end up being a “star” at her upcoming book talk.

MARY WORTH #2: The 2015 joshreads.com writeup has some links to back-in-the-day strips (2008?). It is interesting to compare how the MW characters were drawn then to how they are drawn today, i.e. Toby, Terry and Mary. The third link shows the “old” MW!

Gaturro – Looks like they’re visiting a Heart Museum. 1. a heart with holes; 2. a big heart; 3. He has no heart; 4. the informer ‘Come, I will tell you’; 5. …and this? 6. My translator says “The heart departs”. I would say the heart breaks. You all probably figured out most of this. The point? ???

Judge Parker – My guess is that Alan has made his statement and the boss wants Toni to announce it. Besides making Toni uncomfortable, it’s a bad idea. She would also need to disclose that she has a book coming out about it and that could look like a conflict of interest – selling more books.

Crankshaft – Without an actual joke, that’s just nervous laughing. Wishing good luck to Lillian.

Funky – So Summer is going to follow in her father’s footsteps. We can look forward to more decades of books about Lisa.

Phantom – This becomes so preposterous, it’s laughable.
